Moms have been becoming more and more technologically savvy as more and more devices and innovations are being introduced. This month, Buzz Marketing Group reached out to over 900 mothers of varying ages and backgrounds to find out how they approach and use technology.
We found that technology definitely has a presence in the lives of many Moms. An incredible 88% of survey participants own a personal laptop and 81% own a smartphone.
Regarding tablets, the iPad slightly wins out over the Kindle as 47% of respondents own the former while 41% own the latter.
This increase in devices could either be a cause or an effect of Moms’ skill levels. Overall, survey respondents are confident in their abilities, as a mere 7% believe that their technological knowledge and skills require improvement.
The rest of these Moms state that their skills are adequate or even advanced compared to their peers.
The majority (70%) of survey respondents revealed functionality to be the prime motivation behind their adoption of new technologies.
In becoming tech-savvy, Moms are also finding different uses for technology. 32% of those surveyed shop online once per week and 26% take part multiple times per week.
Online gaming also seems to be somewhat popular, as about a third (32%) of survey respondents partake in some form of online gaming at least once a day.
