So, you are an 8-year-old entrepreneur? When did you start Frou Frou Flip Flops?
I started Frou Frou Flip Flops in May of 2005 to raise money for the victims of the Tsunami. I wanted to do a lemonade stand at first, but my mom didn't think that would work, so I started making flip-flops. I first made them in school as a Mother's Day present. I wanted to help the kids who lived through the Tsunami, and when my mom saw how cute they were, she thought the flip-flops would be a good thing to sell to raise money.

When did you realize this was going to become a full-fledged business?
When lots of orders came from strangers, not just my friends and family!

Explain the 'giving back' aspect of your company.
At the end of each quarter we total up how much money I made. We then subtract what I had to spend, and we take what is left and divide it evenly between 3 charities. I keep a small amount for myself for my hard work.

What makes your flip-flops different from all the others?
We put tons different things on them. I do not know if any two pairs are exactly the same! Some have seashells on them. Some have furry stuff wrapped around them. There's one kind on my Web site that are made with buttons. They also cost less then other flip-flops, and the money goes to charity.

What is your most popular flip flop style?
For adults, it would be the pink and brown ribbon flip -lops, while for kids it would be the multi-pink and rainbow pink flip-flops.

What would be on your dream flip-flops?
It would probably have to be flip-flops with kitty cat buttons.

Where do you see yourself 8 years from now?
I'll be 16 years old, so I see myself driving, maybe. I don't know if I'll be making flip-flops then. We will see how the business goes. It is nice to do what I love now and also give back to others.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mommy. She is a web designer, and she was the one who gave me my web site. I want to be like her when I grow up, because she is not only very talented but an amazing person too.

What are you favorite classes in school?
I like Art because I like creative activities. I like Science because we get to study how things work. P.E. is cool because I get to play with my friends. I ran the fastest mile of all the girls in 3rd grade this year and it made me very proud. In Music class I am learning to play recorder and that's exciting.

What are your favorite fall trends?
Wearing cozy cardigans with jeans. I like dark orange and green for fall colors. I also really like getting to dress up and decorate for Halloween!

What advice would you give other entrepreneurs?
Only do it if you have fun.
